About

We know those waters, and we have help keeping plans current

Maine Sun Seekers is trip planning for people who want the Caribbean done right. Our founder bought a sailboat in Eastport, Maine, and sailed it to the Virgin Islands. He lived in the Caribbean for more than a decade and raised his son there for four years, so the recommendations start from time on the water, not a brochure rack.

He has offshore sailing experience, spent two years as a BVI charter captain on motor boats, and many more years as a mate on powerboat catamarans and sailboats. That time covered the full spread of the work, including snorkeling trips, trip planning, and getting to know most of the outer islands in the BVI and the USVI, including caves you can swim in.

We do not build these trips alone. We have help from many Caribbean friends who keep us current on trending hotspots and what is worth doing right now.

This is not a charter company. We plan the trip, coordinate bookings and vendors, and keep the week coherent. If you want an optional day sail or charter, that goes through a licensed partner. We do not sell charters and are not a licensed charter broker.

Destinations

USVI and BVI weeks that fit how you travel

Two island groups, close enough for a focused week and different enough that the right plan matters. We know most of the outer islands in both the USVI and the BVI, including caves you can swim in, and our friends on the islands help us stay current on what is trending.

US Virgin Islands

St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix. Easy flights from the Northeast, familiar infrastructure, and island hopping that works well for first-time Caribbean travelers and return visitors alike.

British Virgin Islands

Tortola, Virgin Gorda, and the smaller islands around them. Classic sailing waters, quieter coves, and a pace that rewards a thoughtful itinerary rather than a packed checklist.

How it works

Plan together. We handle the vendor work.

  1. 1

    Plan the week together

Talk through dates, pace, who is traveling, and what kind of Caribbean week you want. We shape an itinerary that fits your group.

  2. 2

    Bookings and vendor coordination

We handle the booking work and the vendor messages: flights, stays, and the pieces of the itinerary that need lining up.

  3. 3

    You pay vendors directly

Airlines, hotels, and other vendors are paid by you, straight to them. Maine Sun Seekers charges a planning fee. The amount will be shared when you inquire.
